Guidelines & Parameter of Best Teacher Awards in Telangana
I. The procedure of obtaining applications from the H.Ms./Teachers in Govt./Local Body Schools; Principals/PGTs/TGTs in TREIS and Lecturers/Sr. Lecturers in IASE/CTEs/DIETs for the Awards, is hereby dispensed with.
II. The following Criteria/Parameters for the selection of Head Masters/Teachers in Govt./ Local Body Schools; Principals/ PGTs/ TGTs in TREIS and Lecturers/Sr.Lecturers in IASE/CTE/ DIET for the State Awards shall be followed:-
1. Conditions of eligibility of Head Masters / Teachers working in Govt/Local Body Schools; Principals/PGTs/TGTs working in TREIS and Lecturers/Sr. Lecturers in IASE/CTEs/DIETs for considering for the State Awards:-
a) Gazetted Head Master (HM/GHM) Gr.II with at least 15 years of Teaching experience and for the Teachers 10 years of Teaching experience and who are actually working as (HMs)/ Teachers in Government /Local Body Schools under the School Education Department only shall be considered.
b) Normally, retired teachers are not eligible for the Awards, but those Teachers who have served a part of the academic year may be considered, if they otherwise fulfil the conditions.
c) Lecturers/Senior Lecturers working IASE/DIETs/CTEs, with at least 10 years of teaching experience only shall be considered.
d) Principals with at least 15 years of Teaching experience and for the PGTs/TGTs 10 years of Teaching experience and who are working in Telangana Residential Educational Institutions Society(TREIS), only shall be considered.
2. A. The Headmasters/Teachers working in Govt/Local Body schools, who have done ‘extraordinary’ work or made ‘extraordinary contribution’ in the following parameters shall be considered:
1. Teachers/HMs who have done extraordinary work for improving the Gross Enrolment of the School/Class:-
Details of last two Academic years to be seen.
2. Teachers/ HMs who reduced dropout rate in their schools in the district and achieved least dropout rate for the School/Class compared to the District figures.

3. Teachers/HMs who achieved 100% results in the SSC March exams for the School/Class.Details of students appeared and passed during the past two years to be seen.
4. Teachers/HMs who achieved maximum GPA 9+ results in the SSC March, exams for the School/Class.
Details of students appeared and passed during the past two years to be seen.
5. Special Awards won by the students of the Schools/Class at the State Level Science Exhibition/ relevant National Level competitions.

6. Important innovations implemented as a Teacher/ HM.
Details during the last two Academic years to be seen .
7. Head Masters who achieved 100% Aadhar seeding for the students and teachers in the school.

8. Teachers/HMs who made important contribution to develop the infrastructure in the schools such as toilet constructions, water supply etc., through CSR, etc.,
Details of infrastructure facilities developed in the school during the past two Academic Years, though CSR funds etc., to be seen.
9. Teachers/HMs who achieved Outstanding work in ‘Haritha Haram’ Programme or made special efforts to develop Kitchen Garden etc.,
Details of plantations taken up in the school and survival of the plants during last two Academic years to be seen.

B. The Teacher Educators i.e. Lecturers/Senior Lecturers in IASE/CTEs/ DIETs, who have done ‘extraordinary’ work or made ‘extraordinary contribution’ in the following Parameters:-
1. Awards won by the Pre-service Teacher Trainees in State/ National competitions.

2. Paper Presentation in State and National Level Seminars/Important Research done.
Details of last two Academic years to be seen.
3. Publications – Authored or Edited Govt. Publications like Telugu Academy or Govt. Text Books.

4. Outstanding work as Resource person in Curriculum development /Trends/ Workshops at National and State Level.

5. Creative Work/ Experiments in Education.

C. The Principals/ PGTs/ TGTs working in Telangana Residential Educational Institutions Society (TREIS), who have done ‘extraordinary’ work or made ‘extraordinary contribution’ in the following Parameters:-

1 Adopted innovative teaching Learning Practices/Strategies to improve Academic standards of students.

2 Active participation in organisation of co-curricular activities like Science Fair, Literary activities, Cultural activities, Sports meets, Project works, Seminars etc.

3 Achieved 100% Results in SSC March 2018 in his/her subject. Details of last two Academic years- to be seen.
4 Maximum GPA 9+ Results in the SSC Annual Exams in his/her subject.

Parameters for Principals
1 New teaching Learning Practices/Strategies adopted to improve Academic standards in the Schools with his/her efforts.

2 Achieved 100% observation of class room teaching as per TREI Society norms of each Teacher and provided guidance to the teachers.

3 Achieved 100% health checkups for all the students and maintained Health Cards for all the students as per the norms of TREIS.

4 Achieved 100% Results in SSC Annual Exams for the School.

3. The following Committees at the District and State level shall finalise the names for the Best Teacher Awards:-
Selection Committees:-
I. District Level:-
A. District Collector - Chairman.
B. District Educational Officer - Convenor
C. Principal of DIET - Member
D. Any other District level Officer - Member (Nominated by Dist. Collector)
The District Educational Officers shall furnish total three names only, selected under all these following categories:-
(a) Gazetted Head Masters in Govt./Local Body schools, Principals in TREIS.
(b) School Assts./ Secondary Grade Teachers and Equivalent cadres working in Govt./ Local Body schools; PGTs/ TGTs working in TREIS
(c) Lecturers/ Sr. Lecturers working in IASE/CTEs/DIETs.
The District Educational Officers must furnish along with the names, citation not exceeding (10) lines and evidences with facts/figures on each of the selected candidates along with their recommendations to the State Level Committee.
II. State Level:-
A. Spl. C.S./ Prl. Secy/Secy to Govt. - Chairman (School Education)
B. Commissioner & Director of School Education, / Director of School Education, Hyderabad-Member
C. Director, SCERT, Hyd - Member
D. Secretary, TREIS, Hyd. – Member
E. Principal, IASE, Masab Tank, Hyd. – Member- Convener
The State Selection Committee shall finalise the following number of Awards in the following categories:-
1. Gazetted Head Masters in Govt./Local Body 10 schools and Principals in TREI Society.
2. School Assts./ Secondary Grade Teachers and 31 Equivalent cadres working in Govt./ Local Body Schools and PGTs/ TGTs working in TREI Society.
3. Lecturers/ Sr. Lecturers in IASE/CTEs/DIETs. 02

The Teachers selected by the State Selection Committee will be honoured with a Silver Medal (Gold Plated), a Shawl and Cash Award of Rs.10,000/- and a Merit Certificate.
